Red Dog Designs - Let's Fall in Love and Young at Heart

Hi guys! I have two gorgeous polishes from Red Dog Designs - Ol' Blue Eyes Collection, which is available for sale now!!! This collection is an amazing mix of perfect-for-Valentine's-Day polishes that you do not want to miss out on.
I was so happy to get the opportunity to review for Red Dog Designs, since it's a new to me brand, and the photos I'd seen so far were amazing. Let me tell you, my first experience with these polishes did not let me down!

The first polish I have to show you is Let's Fall in Love. It's a clear base with holo silver and gunmetal hexes, various shades of purple squares and purple micro-slices, microfine pink holo glitter and purple hearts.

I wanted to layer this polish over something super girly for Valentine's Day, as well as black to really show off all the different glitters - so I chose China Glaze Go Go Pink, and Milani Black Swift. For the following swatches, I really just did 1 coats of Let's Fall in Love, and then I dabbed on a bit more glitter if there was any empty space. I hand placed the hearts, but I really didn't have any trouble getting them out, even with the mini bottle/brush. For my accent nail, I did two coats of Let's Fall in Love for an extra sparkly look! :) I used 1 coat of HK Girl topcoat.

Here's a close up of the accent nail - loved this glitter over black! No issues with formula, however if I was to do it again I would add a second layer of topcoat to be sure the hearts were completely smooth - some of their edges stuck up a bit, but not at all enough to bother me. :)

Next up is Young at Heart: clear base with various hues, shapes and sizes of pink, lime holo, teal holo, white glitters, with microfine holo glitter and pink hearts.

This polish is super fun and flirty and girly and I LOVE it! I don't always love polishes like that, but this one just works for me. I chose to layer Young at Heart over a light purple (Essie She's Picture Perfect) and black again. I have 2 coats of HK Girl on in this one, and it worked a LOT better. These hearts were completely smooth, as were the rest of the glitters. I felt nothing sticking up at all! :) These swatches show about 1 and a half coats of Young at Heart. My index finger is 2 coats because I smudged that finger and tried to cover it up lol!

And here's another close-up of my accent nail! This mani was so much more stunning in person than my photos will allow me to show you! This one, I didn't have to fish for hearts AT ALL, in fact, I found myself putting one back every now and then. My bottle was packed full of all the different glitters and I felt I got a great, even mix of all of them without even trying. Formula was wonderful, it dried quickly and I had no problems with it. Any bubbling you might notice is user error - I never seem to wait long enough between coats. :(

Overall, I was incredibly impressed with this brand of polish! Formula was perfect, I had ZERO issues with the glitters, even the large hearts, which can be temperamental sometimes. The mixes of glitter are gorgeous and unique. Full-sizes of these polishes retail for $8.75 each, which I feel is average. I honestly have no complaints! I seriously recommend checking out Red Dog Designs if you haven't already. These polishes are sold out at the moment, but they plan to restock this week, so be sure to follow them on Facebook to keep up to date! :)

Jindie Nails Swatch Spam - Soul Surfing & Shifts-n-Giggles

Hi guys! Catching up on some older photos that I haven't posted up til now. I'm slowly but surely getting through my backlogged posts :)
I've got two Jindie Nails polishes for you today - Soul Surfing and Shifts-N-Giggles.
First is Soul Surfing - prepare yourself - NUBS AHEAD! These photos were taken when I had just taken off a lot of length due to a break.

Soul Surfing is a gorgeous mix of glitter - it's a clear base with big white hexes, microglitter in teal and green, and medium size turquoise/teal hexes and microbars. I think I even see some pale spring green large hexes in there.

I layered Soul Surfing over black, and China Glaze for Audrey.

I love this mix of glitter, it would be gorgeous over lots of colors! I don't believe it's for sale anymore, though - sorry about that! I thought it was worth sharing anyway.

Next up is Shifts-N-Giggles, an amazing color shifting polish packed full of diamonds!

This is back when my nails were loooong again! I layered 2 coats of Shifts over black, and a medium pink (can't remember exactly which pink, but it may have been Sally Hansen Presto Pink).

I love how this polish changes the black! The shimmer flashes blue, pink, and purple in different lighting. There are also small squares in pink and purple in this polish to add a little something extra! :)

Two more beautiful polishes from Jindie Nails! Honestly, I have yet to be disappointed by Jen - every polish is something unique and special and I have never had an issue with formula! This is the indie brand I have the most polishes from, and I intend to keep it that way, lol.
If you haven't already, be sure to follow Jen on her social media sites to keep up to date on new shades and restock information.

Pokemon Challenge: Fire Type

First off, let me apologize for the sheer number of photos in this post. I am SO proud of this mani, and I went overboard lol!!
It's Fire-Type week for the Pokemon Challenge and I had to think long and hard about this one. Fire is and has always been my favorite type, so I was so excited! I ended up settling on one of the cutest Pokemon of all time, in my opinion - Vulpix!
Here's the photo I used for inspiration, taken from Google:

And now, onto the nails!

I didn't really have the right colors for Vulpix, so I did a bit of mixing, and it wasn't quite as hard as I'd thought it would be. For her tail and hair, I mixed China Glaze Mahogany Magic and Sally Hansen Heat Flash. Her body is a mix of Essie Yogaga, Sally Hansen Heat Flash, and a touch of CG Mahogany Magic. The spot on her belly is Essie Yogaga, and the feet and eyes are Mahogany Magic. My other three fingers are a firey gradient using Sally Hansen All Fired Up, Heat Flash, and Lightening. I topped it with two coats of Glimmer by Erica Muy Caliente. I topped off with 2 coats of HK Girl to be sure Vulpix's eyes were level, since they stuck up a bit.

I loved that gradient, I wish I had gotten photos before I put the glitter over top! I've been obsessed with gradients lately lol, this one looked just like fire! :)

Sorry about the dry cuticles in these next two close-ups! I was so excited to take pictures, I didn't really take time to put oil on like I usually do lol. But I still thought these macros were worth seeing!

It was really tough to hold my fingers in that position to connect Vulpix's tail to her body lol! But you get the idea. I know it's not perfect, but I really loved this mani and I feel like my nail art skills are improving every week! I'm so glad I joined this challenge - it's really pushing me to be better and I love it!

What do you think of Vulpix?? Do you have a favorite Fire-Type?? I'd love to hear <3

Let it Snow Challenge: Day 9 - Snowmen

Good evening lovelies! Hope your weekend has been a great one so far :) Today I've got the 9th post for the Let it Snow Challenge, and the theme is Snowmen! I found a great inspiration mani done by the wonderful Theodora at Red Hair and Black Nail Polish, and decided to try to recreate it. It's so cute! Here's Theodora's Snowman Love nails (the picture is a link to the post):

And here's my version!

Those first two photos were taken on my phone so I could use the flash. For some reason, the flash on my camera is always too bright no matter how much I mess with the settings. The rest of these are in artificial light with no flash.

I used a base of Revlon Dreamer topped with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Glass Slipper (to look like snow). Glass Slipper was hard to see in most of these photos, but you can pick it up in the ones with flash. It's actually really pretty and delicate looking! I used a variation of dotting tools, striping brushes and art brushes to make the snowman/snowwoman and the heart, and a dotting tool for the "snow" on my thumb and pinky. Topped off with a coat of HK Girl. :)

So what do you think of my Snow Couple? I thought they were adorable, and definitely a slightly different take on the traditional snowman mani. I'd love to hear your thoughts below! <3
